Adding support for GCP

We are proud to announce that the latest release of our PostFlight Suite software now supports the designation of ground control points (GCP). This new feature allows to bring the absolute error of the automatically generated maps down to the level of the relative error, i.e. approximately 10cm depending on the flight altitude and conditions.

UNOSAT experts have been testing small automated flying vehicles since 2010 during a research programme aimed at verifying their potential in humanitarian rapid mapping and damage assessment. The first one they decided to acquire is the swinglet CAM.

Our demonstration involving two swinglet CAMs has been carried out with the collaboration of R-Pod to provide an intensive user perspective.

The R-Pod team reached a total of 140 flights and 12’000 aerial images with a single swinglet CAM over the last nine months. They produced more than 80 geo-referenced maps.
