Remote damage assessment after tornado hazard by using UAS, remote sensing and information technologies
Assessment of damage is one of the critical problems shortly after a disaster. To appropriately manage a natural disaster, accurate spatial data that captures the geographic extent of damaged areas, both during and immediately after the event needs to be accurately determined. This study uses large-scale mock disasters to demonstrate the potential for UAS to assist and provide value to the Emergency Operators Center during a disaster.
