Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) for volume estimation
This Honors College Thesis examines how stereo imagery obtained from a small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS), the senseFly eBee, can be used to respond to natural disasters by estimating volumes – such as the amount of material needed to rebuild and repair damaged infrastructure – in a safe, inexpensive, and accurate manner, “on a par with terrestrial LiDAR sensor technology”.
