senseFly strengthens its presence in the Chinese market
senseFly, the world’s leading producer of mapping drones, today strengthens its commitment to the Chinese market, deepening its regional ties with leading photogrammetry software maker (and fellow Parrot Group company) Pix4D and recruiting its first dedicated country manager.
“Today we are signalling our growing commitment to the high-growth Chinese market, which recently became our largest individual market outside of North America,” said Jean-Thomas Celette, senseFly’s Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.
While senseFly has been present in China since 2013 through its trusted distribution partner, Dacosmo, today senseFly’s presence is bolstered by the recruitment of Jane Liu as the company’s first country manager for China.
“Our recruitment of Jane, with her extensive geospatial and UAV industry experience, is a great win for senseFly,” Celette added.
Responsible for senseFly’s operations in China, Jane will manage the company’s extensive in-country distribution network, as well as its sales and marketing activities. She will continue to work closely with Dacosmo and Pix4D China, and will be based in the new joint Pix4D/senseFly office in central Shanghai.
senseFly’s decision to co-locate its team with that of Pix4D is a result of the strong market potential the two companies see for seamless, end-to-end professional drone and software solutions.
“By working closely from a combined location, we will be able to better address the market needs for software and hardware integrated solutions”, said Christoph Strecha, Pix4D’s founder and CEO.
“This collaboration will enable us to have an even stronger impact in the Chinese market – where we are targeting annual growth of 30%-50% – and where we see a great many opportunities outside our core geospatial market, for example in the fields for example of agriculture and industrial inspection,” Celette added.
